Kay, so I'm thinking about doing Sims Stories, once I get all my custom content installed again. But, I don't want to bug my flist. So, I have a poll for you peeps. For those of you who don't know what Sims Stories are, they're basically Stories, with pics and lulzy captions, of families from the game Sims...people simulations. Here's a good example: Warning: Picture Heavy

Screw you, DA.

Only 'cause it's big. Come see! )

Eeeeeeeeeeeeee. This has got to be THE BEST I have ever done. Lineart by buttercupbabyppg, I saw it and just HAD to color/shade/etc it. L and Light from Death Note. I think Misa Misa caught them in the act. XD

Done purely with mouse, as my dog ate the cord to my tablet. DDD:

In other news, I've adopted a new style. You might call it glitter goth.

I'm all...

Also Death Note rocks.
While talking about reading speeds and her mother, [ profile] kippurbird and I made an interesting discovery.

Step 1: Voldemort =/= Darth Vader

[ profile] kippurbird : She's a slow reader and gets confused with the characters. (She has on several occasions called Voldemort Darth Vader)
[ profile] golden_purple18 : DARTH VADER?
[ profile] kippurbird : Yes.
[ profile] kippurbird : Darth Vader.
[ profile] golden_purple18 : Wow. Well at least she has you to clarify.

Step 2: Voldemort and Darth Vader share many properties.

They both:

Are Evil
Speak in Husky Voices
Have Disfigurements under their Hoods/Masks
Have Powers
Have Minions
Were Trained in Elite Schools
Were Sort Of Orphans
Have Names that Start with V
Have Names that Contain an R, D, and E

Step 3: J.K. Rowling is a Plagiarist

[ profile] kippurbird : GASP ROWLING DID COPY LUCAS!!
[ profile] golden_purple18 YES
[ profile] golden_purple18 DEAR LORD

Step 4: Losing Your Faith

[ profile] kippurbird :My faith in Rowling as a writer has been broken. ;_;
[ profile] golden_purple18 : For realz. ;_;
[ profile] kippurbird : I can never read Harry Potter agaiiiin

Step 5: ???

[ profile] golden_purple18 :...yes you can. You just will forever replace "Voldemort" with "Vader" So when Harry says "Voldemort killed my parents." You can say "NO HE DIDN'T, HE'S YOUR FATHER."
[ profile] golden_purple18 : ........that is so twisted.
[ profile] kippurbird : It is.
[ profile] kippurbird :That would so... that did happen in so many fanfics

Step 6: PROFIT!!

Which Star Wars character am I? )

In other news, I don't think I'm going to win NaNoWriMo, but I'll try my best, and hopefully at least hit 25k.

Look up the date of your birthday in Wikipedia. From the date page, pick three interesting historical events that occurred on that date, two births, and one death. If possible, one holiday.

1. 37 - The Roman Senate annuls Tiberius' will and proclaims Caligula emperor.

2. 1922 - In India, Mohandas Gandhi is sentenced to six years in prison for civil disobedience. He would serve only 2 years.

3. The eruption of Mount Vesuvius in Italy kills 26 and causes thousands to flee their homes.

1. 1968 - Shinichiro Miki, Japanese seiyu (voice actor) (YOJI. OMGOMGOMG!)

2. 1496 - Mary Tudor, daughter of Henry VII of England and queen consort of Louis XII of France (d. 1533)

3. 1963 - Vanessa L. Williams, American beauty queen, actress, and singer

1. 1314 - Jacques DeMolay, Frankish noble, the 23rd Grand Master of the Knights Templar (b.1244)

1. Mothers Day (Nigeria)

Thanks [ profile] lady_zip. I had to.

The Hypothetical AU Meme: Take any one of the fandoms you know I write in (or think I should), and give me a type of AU (space opera AU, pirate AU, superhero AU, Ancient Rome, etc). I will then explain what story from your chosen fandom I would write for your chosen type of AU. For integrity of the exercise, you should probably stay away from AUs I have actually participated in.

It seems I needed to post. Funny, that.

A list for today. I think there's more that should be on here, but I can't think of it, so I'll edit if I do think of anything. In the meantime...

  • Code Geass is awesome, will be getting rest of books. Big Blue Troll is getting the anime for me. Yay! *bounces around with her manga*
  • Still sick, but it seems to be on and off. Should take some drugs.
  • Have been watching Princess Princess D (Live action). Is the most cracky, gay, yaoi-teasing J-drama ever. Don't usually like drag, but omg the lolita dresses are adorable.

Okay, so I'm unbearably happy bouncy. I need like a squee icon or something. My mom came home from San Francisco and brought me t-shirts, manga, and strawberry pocky. She knows me so well. Anyway, I have the first book of Code Geass, which looks awesome, and the October Shojo Beat. Which I will be devouring shortly. So pretty!

Taken from [ profile] shoujo_bubbles. All instrumental songs and songs in a foreign language will be skipped.

- Put your music player on random.
- Post the first line from the first 32 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing the song.
- Let everyone guess what song and artist the lines come from.
- Bold the songs when someone guesses correctly.
- Looking them up on Google or any other search engine is CHEATING!
Moosic! )
A lot of these are REALLY obvious, but there are also quite a few bands I don't think anyone on my f-list will know, so we'll see.

So, warming up for [ profile] thebrenljidol I wrote a poem. Hehe!

The Song Of Silence )

I'm going to make this short so I don't spam you too bad. This place is awesome. It's got people of all skill levels, and it's tons of fun. They're in their second season, and last season was great. Even if you can't commit to a competition (you get a week to write something to a prompt, no limits or minimums, every week, and you do get two skips) you can be a "Random Writer" and respond to prompts whenever you want. It's fair, easy, and made especially out of frustrations with other competition communities.

Have I ever recommended something before? Hmm? No. So I must really like this place right? Right. Go check it out. You only have one week to get in for this season, so be quick too. I know I have some writers on my friend's list.
